Sustainable Black Kimono

Time flies! It's December already. How is your final spurt in 2019? I have been concentrating on the creating of my new comic book because I have to draw 120 pages in total until the end of the year. I can't have a time to escape somewhere far from here, so it is my lovely pleasure to go shopping or museum near my home and take a photo shoot for this blog. Today's blog about my sustainable black kimono.

Recently, I often saw an article about sustainability in the Fashion industry on web news. Kimono has been called sustainable clothes. We can easily make some different items from a kimono because a kimono is combined some square cloths. A long time ago, an old kimono was customized to a sleepwear. After that, the sleepwear was customized some cushions. Next, they were customized some dusters! Lastly, they were burned, and they returned to nature. I would love to try my kimono like that and show my sustainable kimono project on my blog. I finished to tidy up my closet, so my next stage is how to make a sustainable and stylish closet. This iPhone case with a real fur and this tote bag with vinyl cover are not called sustainability..., but I cherish them. Anyway, a plastic file with prints of an actor, Hiroki Suzuki, in my bag is an advertising of a soap opera by my comic book. The movie will be on from the 28th of February in Japan, so I will report about it next year!!

  10. Hey Akiko, your kimonos are definitely a piece of art that deserve to last for years! I bet you know how to take care of these beautiful pieces!

I loved how you took the most traditional part to a modern aesthetic with the mini bag (it is so cute) and with the fur case, it is the best way to add a funny touch to every look I'd say :D!
